McIntosh Labs announced multiple new products at CEDIA 2011. Their new theater products shipping early next year created a great deal of excitement. Included were the new MX121 preamp/processor, MC8207 power amplifier, and MVP891 play-any-disc player.
The MX121 is a complete home entertainment solution with AirPlay, network streaming and all of the latest Dolby and DTS technology. Also HDMI switching and control of multiple zones. The MX121 has a complete web interface for convenient use and set up. Network features include Windows 7 DLNA and IP control. at $6000 MSRP, the MX121 extends the performance, luxury and power of McIntosh to a remarkably affordable price point.
The MC8207 is a departure from traditional amplifiers from McIntosh. It employs a new metering system that allows the luxury of a glass fascia with electronic metering. With a total power of 1400 watts in its chassis, the MC8207 allows it’s owner to never worry about power requirements of the source material. If the chosen system is only 5 channels with self powered subwoofers, the remaining two channels can drive an additional zone of audio, or in the case of passive woofers, these channels can easily power the subwoofers. Inputs include both single ended and balanced connections. At $6000 MSRP, this amplifier should find many excited clients adding this to their theaters.
The new play-any-disc MVP891 is $5500 MSRP. With 3D Video playback and file sharing networking, this is an exciting source for any home theater system. A new quick loading system allows the user to access the discs quickly. The powerful streaming capabilities open additional sources to the player.
